Despite critics being relatively bemused by Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ ‘prequel, Prometheus, it has been a huge box office hit.
Now, with the film showing that it can make money in cinemas, Scott already is already looking to make a sequel, reportedly to be called ‘Paradise’, which was slated to be Prometheus’ original title.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel.”
The ‘Blade Runner’ director added: “I really don’t want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to [Noomi Rapace’s character Dr Elizabeth Shaw]. I don’t want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from.”
He also told how his version of God wouldn’t neccessarily be an all good being like the biblical figure, telling the publication: “Because [the Engineers] are such aggressive f**kers, I always had it in there that the God-like creature that you will see actually is not so nice, and is certainly not God.” (source)
